Robert Leroy Cochran Jr., 81, Lincoln, died peacefully April 29, 2006. He was born Aug.16, 1924, in Lincoln, and resided there his entire life. Son of former Nebraska governor Robert L. (Roy) and Aileen Cochran.
Robert attended Culver Military Academy (Indiana), served in Europe during World War II and was a graduate of University of Nebraska in mechanical engineering. He was a pilot and a local businessman for more than 40 years. A loving husband, father and brother.
Survivors: wife, Jane S.; sons, daughters-in-law, Robert L. III and Sonya Cochran, Minneapolis, Thomas and Timi Cochran, Lincoln, Michael and Alona Cochran, Pinole, Calif.; daughter, son-in-law, Barbara and Joe Gottfried, Fort Collins, Colo.; grandchildren, Anne, Catherine, Maxwell, Connor, Tyler, Alexandria, Ben, Matthew, Nico, Nathan; sister, Mary Grimes, New Haven, Conn. Preceded in death by: parents; son, Jeffrey.
