US Congressman. He graduated form the University of Michigan Law School in 1964 and served as a US Air Force Captain Judge Advocate, in 1965 and 1966. After his military service, he was a lawyer in private practice and a member of the Ohio State Senate from 1967 to 1988. In 1989, he was elected as a Republican to the One Hundred First Congress and to the nine succeeding Congresses, serving until his death.
