Age 93, of Chisago City MN, passed away at home on the evening of June 26, 2020. She was born August 19, 1926, the tenth of fourteen children, to parents William J. and Emma Hartke, of Wood Lake, MN. After graduating high school in Wood Lake, Pearl moved to Minneapolis to attend beauty school and begin a career as a beautician. She married Peter D. Aadland in 1947. The couple lived first in Minneapolis, then in Crystal until 1961, when they bought a farm on Lake Comfort near Wyoming, MN, which has been the family home ever since. Pearl was a realtor for 18 years. She was also the mother of three boys, a charter member of Lord of the Lakes Lutheran Church, an avid Minnesota sports fan and a World-Class Horseshoe Champion. A gifted artist and tireless worker, she crafted altar banners for the church for 36 years, including more than 200 baptismal banners. In the last seven years, she sewed 2,080 pillowcase dresses, which have been distributed around the world to children in need. She baked chocolate chip cookies on the day she died. Pearl leaves behind one brother and one sister; and three sons.
