Salinger Funeral Set for Today. Noted S. F. Engineer Killed in Crash In Canada. Funeral services for Herbert Julius Salinger, widely known San Francisco mining engineer, will be held at 9:30 o'clock this morning at the Halsted & Company chapel, 1123 Sutter Street. Mr. Salinger, 54, died November 18 at New Denver, British Columbia, of injuries suffered when his automobile crashed through the railing of an ice-covered bridge during a business trip to Canada. A native of New York, Mr. Salinger attended Columbia University -won an outstanding reputation in the mining business in the United States and Canada and came to San Francisco eighteen years ago. He was associated here with Samuel W. Livingston as a consulting mining engineer. He was regarded by his colleagues as an authority on zinc. Mr. Salinger leaves his widow, Mrs. JeHanne Bietry Salinger; four sons, Pierre, Herbert, George and Richard, all of San Francisco; a daughter, Miss Anne Salinger of New York, and a brother, Edgar, of New York.
