William Maclay was the 8th child of William and Mary Maclay. He lived for a short 77 days, dying on 12 May 1786. The Historical Journal: A Monthly Record of Local History and Biography, Devoted Principally to Northwestern Pennsylvania, by John F Meginness, Vol. 1, Williamsport, PA, 1888, p 232.

William Maclay's marker, a small slab, is on the right of Samuel Awl's grave. Samuel was married to William's sister, Mary Maclay in 1795.
