Passed away Saturday, August 26, 2006, at Providence St. Vincent's Medical Center, Portland, OR. Bobbie was born in Kalamazoo, January 8, 1922, the daughter of Edward C. & Mable B. (Burns) Heid. She was a faithful member of St. Luke's Episcopal Church for many years, had served as Chair of the Thrift Shop, was a Girl Scout leader, and a member of Credit Women International. She was previously employed by Miller Lumber Co., E.M.Sargent Fuel Oil Co., and most recently as a credit manager for West Side Family Medical Center, retiring in 1984. On Nov. 25, 1939, she married Arthur F. Sheets, who preceded her in death on June 2, 1996. She was also preceded in death by their son, Arthur F. Sheets, Jr. on April 28, 1964, and two brothers, Matthew C. Heid and Edward A. Heid. On Dec. 1, 2000, she married George "Mick" McWhirter, who preceded her in death on Sept. 16, 2004. Surviving are three daughters and spouses, Janet & Mark Montei of Roscommon, MI, Marcia N. Sheets of Beaverton, OR, and Sandra & Ronald Snow of Portage; six grandchildren, Christopher, Sarah, Heather, Amy, Kathleen & Barbara; three great-grandchildren, Christopher, Gabriella & Gavin; several nieces and nephews. Services will be held 11 o'clock Friday morning at St. Luke's Episcopal Church, 247 W. Lovell St., with The Rev. C. Mark Rutenbar officiating. Interment in Genessee Prairie Cemetery. Contributions in her memory may be made to St. Luke's Memorial Fund. Friends will be received at the funeral home Thursday afternoon where the family will be present from 2 to 4.
