Author, Screenwriter. A novelist for most of his writing career, he wrote the popular works "Lost Horizon" (1933), "Goodbye, Mr. Chips" (1934) and "Random Harvest" (1941), all three of which were turned into successful Hollywood motion pictures. He also wrote several motion picture screenplays, most notably "Camille" (1936) and "Mrs. Miniver" (1942), winning an Academy Award for the latter.
