Dr. Robert Pratt "Bob" Romney
1929 - 2017

Early Life: Robert, affectionately known as Bob, was born October 18, 1929, to Gaskell Maurice and Genevieve Wallis Romney, the youngest of four children: Elizabeth, Wallis, George and Robert.
Life's Work/Service/Interests: Bob loved and lived a wonderful, purposeful life. His love of people involved reaching out to anyone and everyone, always helping and lifting others up. His chosen medical profession (OBGYN) allowed his caring nature to be magnified on a daily basis bringing newborns into their mortal world. Helping infertile couples to have the joy of children was the highlight of his career. He was a respected leader serving as President of the Utah State OBGYN Society, Medical Director of Utah Valley Hospital and Medical Director of BYU Health Center; also serving as Chairman of the Ethics Board of Utah Valley University. Bob learned patriotism from his father and served his country in the United States Army, helping wounded soldiers in a surgical unit. He cherished his mission to England for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. His humanitarian mission to the islands of Tonga was unforgettable to him. His great strength came from his unwavering testimony of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. He dearly loved his family and his friends. Dr. Robert Pratt Romney, beloved husband, father, grandfather, physician and friend, passed away peacefully July 26, 2017, surrounded by his loving family.
Survived By: His wife, Deborah; his children: Elizabeth Romney Carol (Tim), Mary Louise Romney Hughes (Allan), Brooklyn Romney Hyde (Trent), Michael Robert Romney, William Coles (Deanne), Darren Coles (Andrea), David Coles (Tiffany); 16 grandchildren, and six great grandchildren.
Services: The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints
Location: Alpine North Stake Center
Prior to Burial: Dr. Romney has chosen to donate his body to the University of Utah Medical School where he received his degree.
Interment: Alpine City Cemetery
