JOEL DANIEL HARMON

Joel Daniel Harmon, 18, of Valley Lee died on July 17,1998 at his home.

Born on Nov. 2,1979 in Baltimore, he was the son of Kenneth and Janet Campbell Harmon.

He attended Piney Point Elementary School and Esperanza Middle School and was a 1998 graduate of Leonardtown High School and St. Mary's County Technical Center, where he enjoyed the electronic classes.

He was a very creative person and loved working with his hands. Among his other passions was the sports of fly fishing for trout and deer hunting with his dad. As a child he enjoyed rebuilding dirt bikes and later raduated to working on his trucks. He loved working with his brother-in-law Rob as a carpenter's helper and working as a mate on the boat Pamela Sue with Pfete Latvala.

He also enjoyed riding dirt bikes and four-wheel ATVs and going to the track with Collin, Tony and Little David. He especially loved just hanging out with his little buddy, Justin, who woke him up every morning and couldn't wait for him to come home every afternoon.

His friends included Caitie, Mike, Candice, James, Tommy and Doug. His face lit up whenever he saw his girlfriend Heather.

He always looked out for his older sisters and was always willing to lend a helping hand. His courage, strength and kind, gentle smile will live in his family's hearts forever.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by three sisters, Stacy Lynne Seltzer and her husband Robert C. eltzer of Piney Point, Rebekah A. Lee and her husband, Shannon R.
