Renee C. Goeke, 89, passed away November 30, 2018. She was born September 10, 1929 in Indianapolis, IN, to the late Charles and Anne (Blessing) Chevrolet, and she was the only granddaughter of Louis Chevrolet, the founding father of Chevrolet Motors.
Renee graduated from Ladywood High School in 1948. She went on to attend Stevens College in Columbia, MO, and then earned her Bachelor's Degree from Butler University in 1952 where she was an active member of the Delta Gamma Sorority. For years, Renee was a beloved English, Spanish and French teacher to gifted students at Indianapolis Public Schools. On July 17, 1954, Renee married Paul D. Goeke, Jr., and later became a homemaker to focus her time and love on her family. Throughout her life she was a talented figure skater and that talent turned into her passion. Renee was very involved in judging ice skating competitions and she was a judge for many local and regional competitions and the USFSA. She was a wonderful wife and mother and a loving grandmother to her two grandsons. Renee had a love for life and enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family.
Renee is survived by her daughter, Lisa (Dan) McDaniel; and grandsons, Matthew (Danielle) of Denver, CO, and Nicholas McDaniel (Melusine) of Indianapolis.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Goeke, Jr.
