Mount Carroll -- Thomas Peat, 80, of Mount Carroll, died Saturday evening at Savanna City Hospital. (Note: The Social Security Death Index gives the date as March 1981.) Born Feb. 28, 1901 in Ogle County, he was the son of John and Rebecca (Boyer) Peat. He married Lulu Ray Oct. 11, 1924. Surviving are his widow; two sons, Maclyn of Skokie and Randall of McLean, Va.; one brother, John of Rockford; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by four brothers and one sister.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Frank Funeral Home in Mount Carroll with the Rev. Tony Hawkins officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. Friends may call from 7 to 9 tonight at the funeral home.
