Dawne Warren Hedges, 76, of Little Rock, peacefully passed away, Sunday, October 12, 2014. She was preceded in death by her parents, Martha Parnell Warren and Eugene R. Warren and grandparents, Governor Harvey and Mabel Parnell, O.N and Sula Warren.

Dawne grew up in Little Rock and graduated from Little Rock High School and later from the University of Arkansas with a degree in Education. She was a pioneer for women in the banking world in the seventies. She worked as a lead in the Proof and Transit division of First National Bank then First Commercial Bank. She later opened a travel agency in Hot Springs and her world travels began. Taking groups on trips was the joy of her job and later traveling with friends.

Dawne was very active in the Arthritis Foundation and was the Chair of the Fifth Season Ball from its inception in 1983 until 1986. She was extremely proud of the exposure she was able to give the Foundation and raising the awareness of juvenile rheumatoid arthritis.

She beamed when talking about her grandchildren and would brag on them any time given the opportunity. They were always amazed with her stories about her childhood and travels around the world.

Dawne is survived by her husband, Jerry Lee Hedges, daughter, Dawne Attwood Sokora and husband, Jimmy, all of Little Rock, daughter, Irene Attwood Mauss and husband, Daniel, of Climax Springs, Missouri, son, Eugene W. Attwood and wife Lena, of Helsinki, Finland. Grandchildren, Hannah, Nicholas and Zachary Sokora of Little Rock, Martha Mauss of Dallas, Texas, Matthew Mauss of Severn, Maryland and Alexander Attwood of Helsinki, Finland.

The family would like to extend special thanks to Hospice Home Care of Little Rock; Immanuel Baptist Church and the Grace Sunday school group; The Manor, St. Vincent’s MICU and the ladies of the LRCHS class of 1955. Also, the utmost gratitude to Dr. Harold and Mary Helen Hedges for love and support above and beyond the call of duty.

Services:
A memorial service will be held at St. Michael’s Episcopal Church on Sunday, October 26, at 3:00 p.m. to be followed by a reception at the church. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, a donation be made to Hospice Home Care.
