Glad, for many years and until three years ago, was a laborer at the Carbon Works located on West Main street. Prior to that occupation he farmed.
He was born in Belleville February 2, 1865, a son of Eugene and Catherine Glad, nee Louis. He was married to Martha Elizabeth Schaefer in this city on December 12, 1892.
Besides his wife he leaves a son:

Miss Kate Glad, 218 S 16th St
Miss Mary Glad, Green Mount Lane
Mrs Josephine Miller, Stuttgart, Ark.
Frank Glad, 218 S 16th St
John Glad, Green Mount Lane
Two grandchildren also survive.
Funeral will conducted Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Glad residence, 2925 West Main street to Walnut Hill Cemetery. The Rev. C. R Hempel, pastor of Christ Evangelical Church, will officiate.
