Mrs. Kate Keith Vaughan, widow of General C.C. Vaughan, Jr. and mother of Mrs. Charles Lee Smith of Raleigh, died at 8:30 Friday night at her home in Franklin, Va. Mrs. Vaughan was born in Athens, Tenn., on July 15, 1865, and was married to General Vaughan on May 10, 1988. She had lived in Franklin from that time.
Besides Mrs. Charles Lee Smith, these children survive: Mrs. Clifford A. Cutchins, Jr., Miss Katherine Keith Vaughan, and Mr. Cecil Calvert Vaughan, III., of Franklin; also surviving are three grandchildren, Clifford A. Cutchins, III., Sara Keith Cutchins, and Katherine Vaughan Cutchins.
The funeral will be held today at 3 o'clock from the home in Franklin, Va.
