Edna Holzworth, 80, died July 11, 2006, at Missouri Slope Lutheran Care Center, Bismarck, surrounded by her loving family. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 15, at Bismarck Community Church, 1617 Michigan Avenue, Bismarck, with the Rev. Maury Millican officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Bismarck.

Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday at Eastgate Funeral Service, Bismarck, and one hour prior to services at the church.

Edna was born Sept. 14, 1925, on the family farm near Burnstad, the daughter of Gottlieb Sr. and Magdalena (Nehlich) Eiseman. She grew up and received her elementary education in the vicinity and helped on the family farm. She married Edwin Holzworth July 1, 1946, at Napoleon. They moved to Wishek, where they resided until 1958, when they moved to Bismarck. She worked in housekeeping for Holiday Inn, Heup's Hotel, Knotty Pine Motel and Nodak Motel, until she no longer could work due to her health problems. Mr. Holzworth died in 1989. After Edwin's death, Edna resided in their home until Aug. 30, 2004, when she entered the Missouri Slope Lutheran Care Center.

Edna was a very kind and gentle woman and her beautiful, infectious smile would capture everyone's heart. She loved gardening, baking and embroidery. Most of all, she loved being with her family and grandchildren and always had cake, cookies or kuchen ready to serve. She will be deeply missed and forever loved by her family.

She is survived by three daughters, Carolyn (Dean) Miller, Helen (Jerome) Klein and Pamela (Curtis) Miller, all of Bismarck; one son, Dennis (Julie) Holzworth, Bismarck; one brother, Rueben (Wilma) Eiseman, Wishek; eight grandchildren, Jodi Newton, Tracy Lipp, Cory Miller, Jamey Miller, Dustin Holzworth, Crystal Overbeck, Jason Klein, Matthew Overbeck and their families, which include eleven great-grandchildren; two brothers-in-law, Eugene (Delores) Holzworth and Floyd (Judy) Holzworth, all of Bismarck; six sisters-in-law, Emma Eiseman and Anna Eiseman, both of Wishek, Arlene Conitz, Bismarck, Alvina Hamel, Napoleon, Betty Holzworth, Bismarck, and Frieda Holzworth, Montana; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; and a special friend, Tillie Miller, Bismarck.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, in 1989; seven brothers, Christ, Clarence, Gottlieb, Gideon, Jake, John and Ernest; and three sisters, Lydia, Martha and Rose.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Missouri Slope Lutheran Care Center for the wonderful care that was provided for their mother.
