Lillian Roemer Fisher, of Elgin, passed away Wednesday, October 4, 2017. She was 95 years old.

Lillian was born in Elgin on June 7, 1922 to Lillian and Emil Roemer. She married Cecil Fisher on December 15, 1946. Their son, Flint, was born in 1958.

The Fishers were pillars of the Elgin Community. Their home was open to their many friends and family, and Lillian always greeted company with a smile, a warm meal and easy conversation. Sitting around her kitchen table, you could have half-n-half on a slice of cobbler and a glass of sweet tea while catching up on the day’s news or laughing about the latest crazy fishing or hunting tale.

Lillian and Cecil had a way with young people, and there are many who feel grateful to them for their love and guidance.

Lillian was devoted to her family. Lillian lived a long, full life and brought much joy to those who loved her.

She is survived by her son, Flint Fisher and his wife, Dana, and her grandsons, Danny Fisher and girlfriend, Kari Pentico and Lance Fisher and girlfriend, Erica Torres.

There will be a graveside service at Elgin Cemetery.
