Actor, Screenwriter, Filmmaker. He began his career in advertising before entering the film business. He was the father of actors Susie Cusack, John Cusack, Joan Cusack, Bill Cusack, and Ann Cusack, often appearing together with their father in films. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. In 1970, he left advertising and produced and directed the abortion documentary film, "The Committee." As an actor, he appeared in such films as: "Jon E. Lee Is In Love" (2003), "High Fidelity" (2000), "The Jack Bull" (1999, which he also wrote), "Chain Reaction" (1996), "Evil Has A New Face" (1996), "While You Were Sleeping" (1995), "The Fugitive" (1993), "Overexposed" (1992), "Crazy People" (1990), "The Package" (1989), "Things Change" (1988), "Eight Men Out" (1988), "The Lost Honor Of Kathryn Beck" (1984), "Class" (1983) and "The Bodyguard" (1980). On television, he made guest appearances on, "Early Edition" in 1996, and "Sable" in 1987.
