Mrs. Elly V. Anderson, 88, formerly of Broad Street, died yesterday in St. Elizabeth Home, Providence. She was the widow of John E. Anderson.
She was born in Smaland, Sweden, a daughter of the late Karl J. and Elin H. (Anderson) Anderson. She came to this country in 1915 and lived most of the time in Providence and Cranston.
Mrs. Anderson was employed as a cook for the George Champlin family of Warwick Neck for 19 years until her retirement in 1974. She was a member of the Trinity Episcopal Church.
She is survived by a daughter, two sons, seven grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
