MERCILESS DEATH.
Houston--Death is awful and terrible at all times, buts its visits sometimes occur when the particular circumstances intensify its crushing and shocking work, as in the sad, sad death of Mrs. Nettie Burke Hagemann, which occurred this morning at 5.30 o'clock at the home of her husband, Mr. John Hagemann, on Rusk street, corner of Travis. She was taken down just a week ago, when apparently in the perfect vigor of young womanhood, and at the time of her death was 20 years and 2 months of age, young, lovely, sweet in all that man adores in woman, in the full blush of young life and almost idolized by a husband whose greatest joy was in making her happy, are circumstances that intesify the pain of death. To-morrow her remains will be laid to rest among the fragrant flowers of Glenwood, and beside the casket with gloved hands will stand those who just five months back--7th of November--stood beside her a blushing bride at the alter. They were ushers at the marriage of Miss Nettie B. Daniels and Mr. John Hagemann. Then the Rev. Dr. Junkin invoked the divine blessing upon their marriage estate which started out so brightly, now he invokes the mercy of God upon the bereaved husband, and commends the sweet spirit of the departed bride to his everlasting care.
She was the second daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Daniels, and leaves two sisters, Mrs. John Walker and Miss Katie Daniels, and a young brother to mourn with the grief-stricken husband his crushing loss. The pall-bearers selected are John McClelland, John Stewart, Louis Scherding, R. E. Kelly, Frank Dwyer, J. J. McKeever, Jr., Geo. N. Torrey and Hamp Cook.
The funeral will take place at 3.30 o'clock in the afternoon from the residence of Dr. Daniels, on Rusk street.

FUNERAL OF MRS. HAGEMANN.
This afternoon the remains of Mrs. Nettie Burke Hagemann, late wife of Mr. John Hagemann, were laid to rest beneath the green sod of Glenwood amid the tears of grief-stricken relatives and friends. It was an event, the sadness of which was almost overpowering. A husband desolate and alone, weeping to the breaking of his heart, a mother in her great sorrow far beyond the reach of human comfort, sisters whose woe smothered up all else, a father who shook in the storm of grief as though he could not stand, and friends whose hearts felt the most poignant sorrow at the sad loss, made the service at the grave. Rev. E. D. Junkin performed the burial service, which was commenced at the house and concluded at the grave. A large cortege followed the remains to their last resting place, and when the body had been committed to the dust from whence it came, a mound of beautiful floral designs was raised by the hands of love and affection to mark the hallowed spot. The lavish contributions of rare flowers symbolized the life she had lived and the beautiful eternity her angel spirit now enjoys. The scene at the grave was indeed sad, and after many days it will still be unforgotten by those who were present.
