Harvey Saunders, 78, of R.R. 1, Springfield, the last member of a pioneer family of this vicinity, died at 11:45 a.m., July 28, 1948, at Memorial hospital where he was admitted as a medical patient.
He was the son of George M. and Nancy Ann Saunders.
His father was a friend of Abraham Lincoln.
Surviving are a sister-in-law, Mrs. Betty Saunders; and several nephews and nieces, including Mrs. Guy Smith, with whom he resided.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete.

SAUNDERS - Remains of Harvey Saunders, R.R. 1, were taken to Bisch Memorial home and where services were held.
Burial was in Oak Ridge cemetery.
