Thomas James Churchill II, elder son of Samuel Johnson (1856-1915) and Katie Hooper Churchill (1861-1944), was born on September 8, 1883, in Little Rock. He last lived in Arcadia, Ca. and was head of the marine department of General Petroleum Company. He married Lucy Marie Mighell (1887-1980), of San Francisco. Their children were Thomas James, III (1908-24), Dr. Ambrose Sevier (1910-2010) and Marie Elizabeth Churchill (1915-86).

Dr. Ambrose Sevier Churchill (1910-2009)(Stanford 1931, M.D. 1935) lived in Black Butte, Ore. He was a director of the Oregon Board of Health, 1953-66, and a chest surgeon in Los Angeles. He served as a major in the 73rd Evacuation Hospital located in the Indo-Burma frontier during WWII, 1942-45. He married in 1947, Victoria Hobart Peay (1919-2001)(UCLA c1941), daughter of Gordon Neill (1890-1963) and Rosalind Byrne Peay (1893-1960), of Little Rock. Their four daughters are Victoria Hobart who lives in Lake Oswego, Ore. and married Stephen Thompson; twins Elizabeth Peay and Anne Sevier; and Juliet Neill Churchill who lives in Bend, Ore. and married Max Robertson.
