Rabbi Saul B. Appelbaum was born October 20, 1907 in Cleveland, Ohio the son of Meyer Appelbaum and Rose Levinson. He died Friday December 5, 1964 at age 57 in a Chicago hospital, formerly of Bradford, PA and of Santa Barbara, California where he held a pulpit.

He was survived by his mother, Rose Appelbaum of 2769 Lancashire Rd, Cleveland Hts, OH and his wife, Anne

Rose Appelbaum (nee Levinson) daughter Heshel Levinson, died July 22, 1966, sister of Philip Levinson of Gary, IN, Israel and Shoel Levinson. Private graveside services July 22, 1966, arrangements by Miller Memorial Chapel.

Saul was widely known in Cleveland's Jewish community. He Appelbaum received his early education in the Cleveland Hebrew School and Institute and attended Western Reserve University. He was a graduate of Hebrew Union College in Cincinnati and the University of Cincinnati.

Saul's funeral was Dec 7, 1964 at Temple Beth El in Rockford, IL, where he had been spiritual leader for 15 years before taking the California post. [I'm not sure I have the correct cemetery].
