He was born in Winchendon on May 18, 1943, son of the late Kenneth and Magnhild (Granquist) Higgins and was a lifelong resident of Winchendon.
Dave attended Winchendon school and proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War.
Dave worked as a custodian for the Winchendon Public School system for many years until his retirement. He enjoyed playing golf and watching sports on television.
His wife and best friend of 42 years, Carol M. (Charbonneau) Higgins, died in 2016.
He leaves five children, seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Military funeral services will be held in Massachusetts Veterans' Memorial Cemetery, 111 Glenallen Street, Winchendon.
