Mrs. JANE ROSE NICHOLAS CLAGGETT, widow of Z.S. Claggett, died yesterday morning at her home, Potomac Avenue and North Street, from heart trouble, aged 68 years, after an illness of nine months duration. Mrs. Claggett was a daughter of Robert Carter Nicholas, Geneva, NY; and a granddaughter of Judge John Nicholas, who represented the Stafford County, Va., district in Congress.

Her husband, who was a pominent member of the Bar, died in 1890. Mrs. Claggett was a musician of rare ability, a member of the Episcopal church and was highly esteemed.

Surviving are six sons, Robert N., John Lawson, Tampica, NM; Samuel, Salem, Va., Zachariah, Greenville, Miss.; Fred D., Cincinnatia, O.; and one daughter, Miss Jennie N., at home.

The funeral will take place Sunday afternoon. Services at the house; interment in the old Episcopal graveyard.
