Mr. Lazell Lamar Abbott, age 45, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, October 4, 2016 at his home. He was born July 12, 1971 the son of Doris J. Abbott and the late Gary Roberts in Racine, WI. He accepted Christ at an early age and attended Galilee Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Mabry Gardner, where he served on the Junior Usher Board. Lazell grew up in Kalamazoo and graduated from Loy Norrix High School in 1989. In 1998, he married Georgia Sterling. Lazell was employed at Glass Master of Kalamazoo. Lazell loved spending time with his family and friends during cookouts, where he enjoyed barbequing and entertaining. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Lazell was preceded in death by his father, Gary Roberts, Sr.; grandparents, Walter and Dorothy Walls; grandfather, William Abbott, Sr.; step-grandfather, Woodrow Walker; 2 aunts, Jonell Abbott and Linda Abbott; 2 uncles, William Abbott, Jr. and Robert Abbott, Sr.

Walker; mother-in-law, Jesse Sterling; daughter, Alicia; 2 sons, Anthony and Lazell; sister, Amina Folayan; 2 brothers, Gary Roberts, Jr. and Levi Roberts; 7 grandchildren, Anthony Rayven, Jazell, Lazaria, Ranyen, Lazell and Keenan, all of Kalamazoo; godmother, Vicki Ellis of Auburn Hills, MI; and a very special friend, Zita.
