Violet Rose Abernathy, age 92 of Clinton, SC and formerly of Hayesville, NC passed away Wednesday, January 4, 2016 at her residence.

She was a native of Clay County, NC and the daughter of the late Homer Clinton and Mattie Sawyer Millsaps. Violet was a homemaker. She was a loyal member of the Eastern Star, member of the Country Music Association since 1985 and a member of the Nashville Song Writer Association. Violet was of the Mormon faith.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by husbands, Bob Burch and Arnold Abernathy; two sons, Jerry Burch and Bobby Burch; one daughter, Ginger Woodall; one brother, Garland Millsaps; two sisters, Rena Bristol and Grace Erickson and one grandson, Benji Burch.

She is survived by three sons, Rodney Burch and wife Lisa of Prosperity, SC and Teddy Burch of Hiawassee, GA; eight grandchildren, many great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held at 1 PM, Monday, January 9, 2017 at the Townson-Rose Funeral Home Chapel of Hayesville. Rev. Jimmy Rogers will officiate. Burial will be in the Hayesville First United Methodist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Torrey Burch, Curtis Burch, Glen Guyaux, Trevor Guyaux and Johnathan Moore.

The family will receive friends from 12-1 PM, Monday, January 9, 2017 at the Townson-Rose Funeral Home Chapel of Hayesville.
