Lydia Eleanor Ryan, 97, of Menominee, MI passed away Saturday, December 24, 2011, at Bay Area Medical Center of Marinette, WI. The former Lydia Benson was born on June 27, 1914, in Nadeau, Mich. to the late James Benson and Ellen (Christian) Johnson.
On March 6, 1935, Lydia married Charles Ryan in Menominee. Charles preceded her in death on February 8, 1989.
She was a member of the Marinette Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses.
Lydia is survived by her children: Thomas (Nancy) Ryan, of Marinette, WI; daughter-in-law, Pat Ryan of Port Washington, WI; daughters: Alice (Buddy) Hensley of Bedford, VA and Eleanor Ryan of Menominee, MI; also her sister, Alice Kartheiser of Menominee, MI; as well as nine grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter.
Her son, Lloyd Ryan of Port Washington, WI preceded her in death on February 19, 2010.
Friends and family may call after 1 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall, 411 McAllister St., Marinette, on Saturday, January 14, 2012. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. with Don Carlson officiating.
