Zehm Ella J., age 77, of Brooklyn Center. Born August 26, 1926 in Manyaska township to Johanna & Henry Lueck. she graduated from Welcome Public School in 1944 and then worked as a phone operator at the Welcome Phone Company. On July 4, 1947 she married Bob Zehm at the United Methodist Church in Welcome. They moved to Waseca where they owned a jewelry store. In 1968 they moved to Brooklyn Center where she worked at Jewelmont in Golden Valley. She was a hamm radio operator, enjoyed quilting, sewing and spending summers at her cabin in Breezy Point, MN. She was a member of Rebeccah's Lodge, VFW Auxiliary, American Legion Auxiliary, Eastern Stars, Toastmasters and a member of Harron United Methodist Church. Preceded in death by husband, Robert on July 24, 2003; daughter, Bonnie Melrose; granddaughter, Malynda Melrose; and brothers, Max and Robert Lueck. Survived by daughters, Connie (Kevin) Powers of Backus, Ellen Tow of Fairmont; sons, Ronald (Melodie) Zehm and John (Beth) Zehm; 9 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; brothers, Jack (Verna) Lueck, Jim (Violet) Lueck and Roger (Helen) Lueck; sisters, Lois VanRiper, Mary Ann (James) Wohlhuter and Judy (Elmer) Buhmann; sisters-in-law, Arlene Lueck, Edith (Alfred) Buhmann, Dortha Andersen and Loretta Zehm. Funeral service Thursday, Sept. 11, 2003 at 11 AM, Harron United Methodist Church, 5452 Dupont Ave N., Brooklyn Center. Visitation Wednesday 6-8 PM, Gill Brothers, 7300 Rockford Rd., New Hope, and one hour prior to the service at church. A service will also be held Friday at 1 PM, Fairmont United Methodist Church, Fairmont, MN with visitation one hour prior. Interment Welcome City Cemetery, Welcome, MN. GILL BROTHERS 763-531-1777
