Harry was born in Salford.He arrived in 1910 to be a French Polisher in the Eaton Store in Toronto.On 23 Sep 1914, Harry enlisted in the Canadian Expeditionary Forces, Second Field Company, Engineers. He was a carpenter & was single. He enlisted at Canadian Forces Base Valcartier in the municipality of Saint-Gabriel-de-Valcartier, ~16 mi North of Quebec City.He served as a sapper in World War II. On 9 Dec 1915, he married Annie Maria Spiers in Toronto. They had two daughters: Ethel Mary Ainsworth Wallingford and Dorothy Mary Louise Ainsworth Baldwin. Harry and Annie divorced. He later married Christina Catherine McConnell and had two sons: Leonard Herbert Ainsworth and Calvin J Ainsworth.
