Ann was the Widow of Ret. Navy : Floyd (Jerry) E. Jirrels.
Ann was born Ann Bono in the town of Northvale in New Jersey. Ann was the youngest of eight children in her family.
In 1953 Ann married Adolph G. Galka. They had four chldren, Kevin, Guy, Ann & John. They divorced in 1973.

In 1974 Ann met her husband Floyd (Jerry) Jirrels. Jerry was a widow and had two grown children from his first marriage. They are Clara Jean Waits of Texas and Floyd (Skip) E. Jirrels III of California. Jerry and Ann were married at a friends home in Chandler. All of Ann's children legally changed their last names to Jirrels. Jerry and Ann had almost ten years together before Jerry passed away from Chronic Lymphatic Leukemia.
Ann is the Grandmother to Steven Curtis Petty, Kelsey Ann Jirrels, David Anthony Jirrels & Jerry Vincent Jirrels.
In 1996 Ann sold the old home and moved to a gated community named Springfield in Chandler Arizona. She purchased a wonderful little patio home for her to live out her years.
She was a survivor of four different battles with Cancer and yet still made time for other people and their needs. She was taking care of peoples homes when they were out of town for the winter as well as she was known for cooking food for many parties and gatherings. Ann would always make calls to people to see if they needed anything if they were ill, sending silly cards to cheers someone up and making sure to stop by to see old friends that could not get out and about. Ann's oldest son Kevin lived with Ann.
On August 8th, 2006 Ann passed away at Chandler Memorial Hospital with many family members and friends. At Springfield on August 12th, over 100 people came to her memorial service at the club house . The Sunshine group at Springfield set up a lovely hall and had much food for everyone as their gift to Ann and her children. It was truly beautiful, with flowers, card and gifts from so many.
Ann's son Kevin now lives with his sister Ann Hayes and her husband Donald in Tulsa Oklahoma. God Bless Ann and the many hearts she touched over her lifetime. Ann 's family and friends miss her so much.
Written by her daughter Ann Elizabth Hayes of Tulsa, OK.
