Jack F. Spear, 85, Edmond, Oklahoma, went to be with his Heavenly Father on Tuesday morning, March 8, 2016. During the past year, Jack bravely fought multiple cancers. He was born in Okmulgee, Oklahoma to Silas McClure Spear and Ruby Mae Floyd Spear.

Jack joined the U.S. Army and fought in the Korean conflict. Upon his return in 1952, he married the love of his life and very best friend Nancy Williams. In 2014 Nancy passed away leaving Jack heart broken and longing to join her in heaven.

Jack was an accountant for Kerr-McGee Corporation. During his professional career, he moved the family to Jacksonville, Florida. While there he was active in a prison ministry where he shared his faith in the Lord. His passion for sharing his faith followed him throughout his life. Jack loved his First Baptist Church family.

He was a wonderful Christian father, loved and admired by his entire family. He is survived by his daughter, Chris Box and her husband Dennis, Oklahoma City, OK; sons Mark Spear and his wife Gaylynn, Edmond, OK, and Drew Spear, Oklahoma City, OK; six grandchildren, Jeremy Overstreet, Lakewood, CA, Becca Overstreet, Oklahoma City, OK, Rachel Sanders and husband Grant, Yukon, OK, Chase Nottingham, Denver, CO, Chartney Spear, Edmond, OK, and Bailee Spear, Oklahoma City, OK; 3 great-grandchildren, Gavyn and Layla Overstreet and Jameson Sanders. Jack left two brothers and their wives, Nate and Alta Spear, Orlando, FL, and Bob and Jeannie Spear, Shawnee, OK, and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Jack was preceded in death by his parents and two siblings, Dwight Spear and Fern Hamilton.

A celebration of life service will be held Saturday, March 12, 10:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church, Edmond, OK with burial to follow at Gracelawn Cemetery.
