Dr. Michael Henry Bialik, 96, passed away on a Friday, at the Northwoods Assisted Living Place. He died peacefully, with family at his side.

He was the son of Michael and Mary (Chesley) Bialik.

Michael grew up in the Manistee area and was a 1938 graduate of Manistee High School. He completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Detroit and then went on to receive his medical degree at Wayne State University. Michael then entered into the service of the Army Medical Corp, and was stationed in Yokohama Japan during the occupation following World War II. Following his tour, Michael was honorably discharged as a lieutenant colonel.

After Michael's return from service, he became a founding partner in the Dearborn Eye, Ear, Nose & Throat Clinic, in Dearborn Mich., where he practiced ophthalmology for over 40 years. He was on staff at Oakwood Hospital in Dearborn and Mount Carmel Mercy Hospital in Detroit.

On April 12, 1947, he married Jean Marie Ward and they resided in Dearborn Heights for most of their married lives. Michael and Jean moved to the Gladstone area in 2006 to be closer to their granddaughters.

Michael was an avid sailor and photographer and he enjoyed taking pictures of his three granddaughters. Michael was also a devout Catholic and was a long time member of St. Anselm's Catholic Church in Dearborn Heights, Mich., and All Saints Catholic Church in Gladstone.

Michael was survived by: two sons, Michael Blake and Paul (Pamela) Bialik; beloved granddaughters, Kristen Bialik, Kayla (Evan) Lindell and Jennifer Bialik.

In addition to parents, Michael was preceded in death by: his wife, Jean; brother, John; and sister, Margaret Janicke.

Visitation at the Anderson Funeral Home with Veteran's services. Mass of Christian Burial at All Saints Catholic Church with Father Jamie Ziminski officiating. Burial in Fernwood Cemetery.
