He married in 1890, Mathilde "Mattie" Sevier Churchill, fourth daughter of Gov. Thomas James (1824-1905) and Anne Maria Sevier Churchill (1830-1917), who was born in Little Rock. They lived in Orange and Longport, N.J. Their five children were Ann Sevier (1891-1960), Thomas Churchill (1893-1976), Agnes White (1900-85), John (1904-85), and Edmund Gay Langhorne, Jr. (1912-84) who last lived in Atlantic City, N.J. and married Margarite Arthur (c1916-), probably the daughter of Thomas (c1888-) and Margaret Arthur (c1890-), of Ocean City, N.J. Their son was Edmund Langhorne III (b.c1938).
