Edmund Gay Langhorne was the son of George Callaway (1822-72) and Agnes Lewis White Langhorne, of Virginia. He and his brother established c1904 a White Motor Company dealership in Newark, N.J. He married in 1890, Mathilde "Mattie" Sevier Churchill, fourth daughter of Gov. Thomas James (1824-1905) and Anne Maria Sevier Churchill (1830-1917), who was born in Little Rock. They lived in Orange and Longport, N.J. Their five children were Ann Sevier (1891-1960), Thomas Churchill (1893-1976), Agnes White (1900-85), John (1904-85), and Edmund Gay Langhorne, Jr. (1912-84) who last lived in Atlantic City, N.J. and married Margarite Arthur (c1916-), probably the daughter of Thomas (c1888-) and Margaret Arthur (c1890-), of Ocean City, N.J. Their son was Edmund Langhorne III (b.c1938).

Ann Sevier Langhorne (1891-1960) lived in Seaside Park, N.J. She married in 1911, Kenneth Augustus Shepard (1891-1955), son of Frederick Michael Shepard, Jr. His father owned a rubber company in Connecticut. Their sons were Kenneth Langhorne (1913-); and Joseph Condit Shepard (1919-) who lived in New Providence, N.J. The latter married in 1950, Edna Kathleen Baker (1919-), in Summit, N.J. Kenneth Langhorne Shepard (1913-) lived in Sterling, Va. He married (1) in 1930, Marjorie E. O'Donnell (1913-), and (2) Beverly Broughton.

Thomas Churchill Langhorne (1893-1976) lived in West Orange, N.J. He married (1) in 1919, Mary Wheatly. He married (2) Margaret Garrison Lane, and their son was Thomas Churchill Langhorne, Jr. (1931-2012). He married (3) Nedra Brown. Thomas Churchill Langhorne, Jr. (1931-2012) lived in Millburn, N.J. He married Astrid, and their sons are Thomas Churchill, III and Andrew Martin Langhorne.

John Langhorne (1904-85) was president and board chairman of Flynn, Harrison and Conway insurance brokers in New York City and president and chairman of the National Association of Insurance Brokers. He married (1) in 1932, Eleanor Morrison Waters (1910-98), daughter of Rossiter (1880-1955)(Columbia 1901) and Katherine Morrison Waters (1881-1975), of NYC. Their four sons were John, Jr., Edmund Gay, II, Rossiter Waters who worked in London for Manufacturers Hanover Trust and for Morgan Guaranty Trust and served in the Army, and Richard Morrison Langhorne. He married (2) in 1952, Elaine Prill (1915-).
