Mrs. Root died Monday, March 30, 1992, at United Medical Center, Moline.
The former Dorothy Hines was born May 28, 1921 in Jonesboro, Ind. the daughter of Otto and Lydia M. Greeley Hines. She married Lloyd Root June 17, 1939, in Davenport.
She had worked at Regalia Manufacturing Co. and Servus Rubber Co., both in Rock Island, retiring in 1983 after 30 years of employment.
She enjoyed playing the organ, cooking and raising flowers.
Survivors include the widower; sons Dennis D. Root, Enon, Ohio, and Ronald Root, Mesa, Ariz.; 10 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a sister, Fay Alline Hemphill, Port Byron; and brothers Wade E. Hines, St. Petersburg, Fla., Marvin E. Hines, East Moline I. Robert Hines, Moline, and Irvin William Hines, Crystal Lake, Ill.
