Valentine S. Patterson. Committed by Isaac N. Senter Judge of Santa Clara County January 7th 1863. Age thirty one years. Native of Tennessee. Has resided in this State twelve years, was last from the State of Missouri. Previous habits good. Cause of insanity probably chronic disease of the liver (his father was insane before his birth). Present condition, quiet, rather disposed to Strange and inconsistent conduct. His physical condition is such as might be expected to result from such a state of his liver, and therefor not good. Admitted January 9th 1863. Address N. G. Patterson, Mission of San Jose Post Office, Alameda County. Died of Brain fever July
16th 1863.
