The funeral service for Ivan C. Sievers will be at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, November 23, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Lake City with Pastor John Berg officiating. Burial will be in St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery in Lake City with Military Rites by the Lake City American Legion Post #110 and VFW Post #8729. Ivan C. Sievers, 70, of Lake City, passed away on Wednesday evening, November 18, 2015 with his family by his side, at Mayo Clinic Health Care Center – Hospital in Lake City. Ivan Charles Sievers was born January 11, 1945 in Lake City, to Alvin and Evelyn (Brunkhorst) Sievers. He attended St. John’s Lutheran School and graduated from Lincoln High School in 1963, and then went to Winona Vo-Tec. Ivan served his country in the US Army Aviation from 1964 – 1967 at the Stuttgart Military Base in Germany. He married Linda Rahman on August 26, 1967 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Plainview. Ivan lived his entire lifetime in the Lake City area. He was employed by Hassler & Herman Implement from 1967 to 1969; managed the Independent Grain & Feed until 1993; and at Ag Partners from 1993 to 2010 when he retired as Credit Manager. Ivan also was employed by Schleicher Funeral Homes for many years. He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Lake City where he served on many church boards. He also served on the Board of Directors for Gillford Mutual Insurance Company. Ivan also was a member and volunteer of the Lake City Hospital Auxiliary for several years. Ivan is survived by his loving wife Linda Sievers of Lake City; two sons, Brett (Lisa) Sievers of Red Wing, MN, and Daren Sievers of Slinger, WI; 5 grandchildren, Nathan, Lucas, Brady, Emma, and Evan; 4 brothers, Clyde (Harriet) Sievers of Des Moines, IA, Frank (Joanne) Sievers of Lake City, William (Gail) Sievers of Albert Lea, MN, and Stanley (Joye) Sievers of Enfield, CT; 3 sisters, Carol (Alvin) Larson of Mankato, MN, Anna (Kurt) Sumption of St. Peter, MN, and Delores Sievers of Casper, WY. He was preceded in death by his parents. Friends and family may visit from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 22, at Schleicher Funeral Homes, Lake City Chapel in Lake City and one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday.
