Son of Thomas and Margaret "Peggy" Wall Graves of North Carolina.

He first married Mary D. Lincoln in Nov of 1828 in Maury Co. Tennessee and with her had nine children: Elijah Thomas, Margaret Jane, Sherwood James, Isaac Brantley, Silva Elizabeth, Mary Ann, Zilpha Caroline, Sarah Emaline, and John A. Leonard Graves.

After the death of his first wife he then married Parthenia Ledbetter in Oct o 1858 in Lewis Co. Tennessee. Together they also had nine children: Ellison Taylor, William Johnson, Martha Adaline, Henry Lee, Eliza Malinda, Pitts Brazhere, Parthenia Savannah, Emery Parlee, and Andy Cook Graves.

There is no marker for Isaac Lee Graves. Their son Isaac Brantley Graves was the first person to be buried in Graves Cemetery of Perry County, Tennessee.
