Ida Hawkins at Caney, Kan. The body accompanied by her husband and daughter of Caney, her two sons, Elbert and Harry Crawford, of Texas, was brought here Thursday. Funeral services by Rev. I. F. Edward from the old home farm east of town at 2 p.m. The burial was in Spring Hill cemetery.
Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Fiester and Mrs. Jennie Harrison, of Manhattan, Jas. Hasting and son, Carl, of Topeka, were here attending the funeral. The Holton Signal, March 10, 1910.
Margaret Elizabeth Fiester was born in Pennsylvania on the 12th day of January 1842, moved with her parents to Griggsville, Illinois in 1852. Was married to John Crawford on the 22nd ofDecember 1863, to this union was born 13 children, 7 of them have preceded her to the other world. The family moved to Kansas in 1882, and lived on their farm one mile east of Whiting until 2 years ago, when they moved to Texas, in hope ofbenefiting Mrs. Crawford's health, but it was of no avail .... Her husband, two daughters and four sons are left .... she died at her daughter's home in Caney, Kansas, on the 1st day ofMarch, 1910, aged 68 years 1 month and 19 days. She was a member of theM. E. church from girlhood, having joined it in Griggsville ....
