Ruth Marguireta Larson March 4, 1924 May 7, 2010 Ruth Marguireta was born on March 4, 1924 the ninth child of J. W. Walter and Eliza Seargeant at Fort William, ON. She passed away May 7, 2010 at Spruce Manor Special Care Home, Dalmeny, SK at the age of 86 years. To cherish her memory, she leaves her son, Larry (Dina) of Jaco Beach, Costa Rica; daughter Carol R. (Wayne) Steppan of Osler, SK; grandchildren Dawn Larson, Ashley, Lyndan and Benjamin Levi Steppan; sisters Ella Seargeants, Marion Budnik, Bernice Perkins, Iris (Dale) Friesen; sistersin-law Olive Seargeant, Edna (Reg) Eamer, Leona (Dave) Smith, Florence (Fred) Swiscoski; brothers-in-law Gerald (Marilyn) Larson, Delmar (Nora) Larson; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Lawrence in 1988, her parents Walter and Eliza, her brothers Kenneth, Wallace, Bob, Harold, Nathaniel; and sisters Muriel, Zella, and Phyllis. Ruth spent her early years in and around the Fort William/Port Arthur area. After High School, she graduated from a three year diploma course from Western Bible College in Winnipeg, MB. Ruth married Lawrence Larson on October 26, 1950 in Fort William, ON. Lawrence and Ruth lived in Winnipeg for about eight years and conducted services in the St. Vital area. In March 1959 they moved to Saskatchewan and served in Baptist churches in Ridgedale, Bagley, Birch Hills, Wadena and Melfort. In December of 1986 they returned to Erickson to pastor the Hilltop and Minnedosa Baptist churches. When Lawrence passed away in the spring of 1988, Ruth returned to Melfort. In the fall of 2004, Ruth moved to the Saskatoon area to be near her daughter and family. In May 2008, the Lord provided a wonderful home for Ruth at Spruce Manor Special Care Home, Dalmeny, SK. The family gratefully acknowledges Ruth's caregivers and all the support staff at Spruce Manor for their diligent and caring work. Funeral Service to be held May 11, 2010, 2:00 p.m. at Hilltop Baptist Church, Erickson, MB. Arrangements are in care of John Janex of Acadia-McKague's Funeral Centre 955-1600. Over the sunset mountains, someday I'll softly go, Into the arms of Jesus He who has loved me so.
