Funeral services for Juliet R. (Anderson) Moris, age 94,of Norfolk will be Sunday, January 25, 2015, at 2:00 p.m., at Thabor Lutheran Church in Wausa, Nebraska. Reverend Ronald Youngerman will officiate with burial in the Thabor Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be held Saturday, January 24, 2015, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m., at Brockhaus-Howser-Fillmer Funeral Home in Norfolk, Nebraska. Juliet died Thursday, January 22, 2015, at Heritage of Bel Air Nursing Home in Norfolk. Brockhaus-Howser-Fillmer Funeral Home of Norfolk is in charge of arrangements.

Juliet Ruth (Anderson) Moris, daughter of O.W. and Ellen Anderson was born January 23, 1920 at a farm west of Wausa. She attended Round Prairie Country School and graduated from Wausa High School. After high school Juliet graduated from Luther Jr. College in Wahoo. She then taught elementary school for three years and then taught high school in Osceola, Nebraska. Juliet then decided to return to school and graduated with her Bachelor's Degree from Gustavus Adolphus College and then her Master's Degree from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Michigan. After she finished her schooling she completed 5 terms of missionary work in Tanzania, Africa where she helped to start schools and taught at them. Her time of service to the people of Tanzania totaled nearly 25 years. After her missionary work, Juliet served as Parish Assistant at Luther Memorial Lutheran Church in Omaha until her retirement in 1982.

After retiring, Juliet moved to Fremont, Nebraska where she met Stanley Moris. They were married in 1984 at Thabor Lutheran Church in Wausa. Juliet became a loving step mother to Stanley's children: Jon Moris, Donald (Sylvia) Moris and Ann (Don) Coder. Stanley died in 1999 and in 2000 Juliet moved to the Meadows in Norfolk. Juliet is survived by her sister, Zelda Anderson of Wausa; nieces, Zelma Anderson of Wausa, Kathy Bierman of Battle Creek; nephews David Stenberg of Lexington, Daniel Anderson and Ronald Anderson both of Wausa, and Steven Anderson of Audubon, Minnesota; 16 great nieces and nephews; 4 step children; and many step grandchildren and step great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Levern Stenberg and her husband Marvin; brother, Medill Anderson and his wife Hedvig; husband, Stanley Moris; niece, Carrie Barney; step daughter, Patricia Moris; and one step grandson, Bryon Moris. In lieu of flowers, donations may be directed to Lutheran Missionaries or a charity of your choice.
