Douglas A. Johnson, 54, of Greensburg, died Monday, June 21, 2010, in Excela Health Westmoreland Hospital, Greensburg. He was born Nov. 4, 1955, in Greensburg, a son of Russell H. Johnson, of Greensburg, and the late Mildred P. (Kilgore) Johnson. He had been employed at DRC for Verizon. He was a member of the South Greensburg United Methodist Church. He was a 1974 graduate of Hempfield Area High School and a 1989 graduate of Pitt at Greensburg. He loved attending Pitt sports events and Penguin games. He was a member of the Laurel Highlands Chapter of Pitt Boosters. He loved hosting barbeques and grilling out, and enjoyed spending time with his special friend, Ruby Tuesdays. He liked walking with his wife, Kim, at Twin Lakes Park, and enjoyed traveling and annual trips to Myrtle Beach. He also enjoyed attending concerts and fireworks. We love you always and forever -- Love, Your three girls. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Kenneth A. "Tubby" Thomas. In addition to his father, he is survived by his wife, Kimberly J. (Thomas) Johnson, with whom he would have celebrated 30 years of marriage on Aug. 2, 2010; their two daughters, Amy B. Johnson and friend, Darren Fedorski, of Pittsburgh, and Faith A. Johnson and friend, Ronak Sampat, of Richmond, Va.; a brother, Dennis Johnson and his wife, Mary Etta, and their children, Erin and Kelly, of Greensburg; two sisters, Linda Harrold and her husband, Keith, of Greensburg, and their children, Rachel and Blake, and Phillip and Stephen; and Patty Felker and her husband, Walter, of Greensburg, and their children, Matthew and Caitlin; and his mother-in-law, Jane Thomas, of Greensburg.
