Mary Virginia Stauble Rose, 90, born in Louisville, KY on March 4, 1925, has completed her journey on this earth on Tuesday, March 17th 2015. She was a graduate of Mercy Academy and went on to obtain her Registered Nursing degree in 1946 from Nazareth School of Nursing, St. Joseph Infirmary. She enjoyed her nursing career until retiring from Veterans Hospital in 1992.

She met William Patrick Rose on a blind date and then married him on June 13, 1953. She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Bill (2004); her parents, Elmer Stauble, Theresa Veith Stauble and stepmother Anna May Stauble and half-brother Donald Stauble.

Mary is survived by her six children; William P. Rose Jr.(Sue); Pamela Wurzel (Lester); Richard Rose; Cheryl Payton; Michael Rose; and Deborah Romans (Russ); along with 15 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She is also survived by three siblings; Mary Jo Dones (Rudy); Betty E. Straub; and Anthony Stauble.

Mary was a long standing member of St. Athanasius. As a shut in for the past several years, she truly enjoyed her Sunday visits from Father Gary Davis and all of the wonderful ministers who visited her weekly and brought communion.

Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, March 21, 2015 at 11 am at St. Athanasius Catholic Church with interment to follow in Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm Friday at the funeral home.
