Actor. Born in Salt Lake City, Utah, he was character performer best known for appearing in small or bit roles in short comedy films of the golden age era. He began his career in the 1920s, at Hal Roach Studios where he made over 60 films. Many of his roles were in the classic Laurel and Hardy comedies such as "Battling Orioles" (1924), "Sugar Daddies" (1927), "Liberty" (1929), "That's My Wife" (1929) and "County Hospital" (1932). His other film credits include "The Mystery Man" (1935), "Saps at Sea" (1940), "Batman" (1943), "Sister Kenny" (1946) and "Law of the Badlands" (1950), his last movie. He died of cancer at age 60 in in Hollywood, California.
