Married John Morris Legendre on November 18, 1938, and they had one daughter, Janet, named for Nancy's sister. They were divorced, and on December 27, 1952, John married Lydia Biddle Allen, formerly married to Douglass M. Allen. Less than two months later, John and Lydia were killed in a plane crash in the Gulf of Mexico on February 14, 1953. Their bodies were never recovered. Nancy survived to age 66.
