Charles "Chuck" Weldon

Charles (Chuck) Stevenson Weldon, Age 87, passed away Nov. 15, 2014.
Celebration of his life will be held Friday, Nov. 21, 1:30 p.m. at the Knolle Chapel of the First United Methodist Church at 710 N. Austin St., Seguin, Texas, 78155.
He was born on Feb. 22, 1927 in Junction Texas to Forrest Jackson and Ida Stevenson Weldon.
He later moved to Rocksprings Texas and then to San Marcos, Texas where he graduated from High School in 1943.
He attended and graduated from the University of Texas in Austin where he met and later married JoAnn Davis, who became his beloved wife of 64 years.
He served as an officer in the US Navy in World War II and the Korean War.
After receiving his Master’s degree from Texas Tech, he and JoAnn moved to the Corpus Christi area where he worked as a petroleum geologist until his retirement.
He and JoAnn retired to McQueeney, Texas where he lived on Lake Placid until his death.
Chuck enjoyed hunting, woodwork, and particularly being with his friends and family.
He was the 2nd biggest Spurs fan on Earth next to his wife JoAnn.
He was involved in charitable work in the Seguin community and was a member of the Seguin chapter of the Rotary Club.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Jo Ann, parents, Forrest and Ida Weldon, and brothers, Jack and Robert Weldon.
He is survived by his son, Clark P. Weldon and his wife Kimberly, son Steven F. Weldon and his wife Lorie, grandchildren Jace, Kelly, Kacy and Zackary Weldon, and great-grandchildren Jake and Ben Haverland.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be directed to the Rotary Club of Seguin Scholarship Fund, P. O. Box 205, Seguin, Texas, 78156-0205 or the Gulf Coast Humane Society, 3118 Cabaniss Rd, Corpus Christi, TX 78415.
