John G. Shattell, Jr., 66, a life-long resident of Baldwinsville, passed away Tuesday September 2, 2014 at home surrounded by his family.
He was born in Syracuse to the late John G. & Greta (Perchway) Shattell, Sr. John retired in 2003 after 28 years from Goulds Pumps Inc. as a Machinist at the Baldwinsville Division. He was a communicant of St. Mary's Church in Baldwinsville, and a former member of the Baldwinsville Moose Lodge and the Knights of Columbus in Titusville, FL.
John's main focus in life was his family. He was an avid fisherman, especially enjoying deep sea fishing. He is predeceased by two sons, Randy in 1977 and David in 1990.
John is survived by his wife of 33 years, three sons, three daughters, two brothers, four sisters, 15 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Calling hours will be Thursday, September 4, 2014 from 4 to 7 pm at the Maurer Funeral Home Moyers Corners, 3541 Rt 31, Baldwinsville.
Funeral services will be 10:15am Friday, September 5, 2014 at the Maurer Funeral Home Moyers Corners and 11:00am in St. Mary's Church, 47 Syracuse St. Baldwinsville where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. The Rite of Committal and Burial will be held in Pine Plains Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
