MRS. JAMES DIED SUDDENLY

Attack of Grip Followed by Pneumonia and End Came Yesterday.

After an illness of one week with pneumonia Mrs. Sarah James died suddenly Sunday evening at 5 o'clock at her home, corner Ninth and L streets.

Mrs. James was first taken ill with an attack of the grip and the other disease developed from it. Her condition was not at all alarming until Saturday afternoon. Saturday night she sank rapidly until the end came.

The deceased was born April 15th, 1848, at Muscatine, Ia. She and her family came to Fremont from Oskaloosa, Ia., twelve years ago. She was a devout member of the First Presbyterian church, and was held in the highest esteem by all who knew her. The near surviving relatives are six children, one son and five daughters, her husband having died several years ago. The children are Misses Effie and Ora James, living at Ottumwa, Ia., Marion James and Misses Edna, Essie, Nellie and Eva James, all of Fremont.

The funeral will be held Wednesday afternoon at 3 o'clock, at the First Presbyterian church.

LAST RITES

The funeral of Mrs. Sarah James was held yesterday afternoon at the First Presbyterian church. It was conducted by Rev. L. W. Weyer. The attendance was large considering the snowy conditions, and the floral offerings were profuse and beautiful. The remains were laid to rest in Ridge cemetery.
