Deceased Name: SHROCK Mr. Charles Edgar Shrock (Pete)

SHROCK Mr. Charles Edgar Shrock (Pete), 80, born June 22, 1920 in Pueblo, Colorado, joined his Heavenly Father on October 5, 2000. On October 14, 1939 Pete met his beautiful bride, LaNette Anna Lawrence. Pete was a U.S. Army veteran. He served with the 1341st Combat Engineers in the South Pacific during WWII. He also served as a machinist/welder for the Santa Fe Railroad for 13 years. He retired in 1977 after 22 years as a vocational instructor for the Federal Prison Service. He then devoted his time and love to the "Bus Ministry" at Cameron Avenue Church of Christ in Colonial Heights, where he was an active member and deacon until he was overcome by Alzheimer's. On the morning of October 5, his God gently took him home. He is survived withloving memories by his wife of 61 years, LaNette; five children, Lillian McCulley, Ruth Paulson, Patricia Batoon, Charles F. Shrock, and Evelyn Burke; three sons-in-law, one daughter-in-law, 15 grandchildren, one of which predeceased him, nine great-grandchildren, and one living sibling. A memorial service will be Monday, October 9, 2000, 7 p.m. at the Church of Christ, 601 Cameron Avenue. In lieu of flowers, donations or contributions in memory of Pete Shrock can be made to the Church of Christ Youth Fund for purchase of equipment.
