Chester Posson, youngest son of Martin L. and Phebe Posson, was born July 12, 1881 near Hinckley. When a small boy he moved with his parents to a farm northwest of DeKalb and in 1899 came to Maple Park. On March 26, 1902 he was united in marriage to Lillie Clark and they had made their home here since. Three children, LeRoy, Lucille and Gladys, were born to them, who with his wife survive to mourn the loss of a loving husband and father.

He also leaves to mourn his loss two half brothers, Wallace of Aberdeen, SD, and Jay of Ogailala, NE, one half sister, Mrs. Leah Hubbard of DeKalb and one sister Mrs. Effie Pitner of Washington, D.C., a number of other relatives and a large circle of friends.

He was a member of Maple Park Camp, No. 564, Modern Woodsmen and the Moose lodge in Elgin. Funeral services were in charge of the Woodmen and were held Wednesday afternoon from the Methodist church. Rev. Mr. Clark of Elburn officiating. The church was crowded. The floral offerings were beautiful. The interment was in Gardner Cemetery.
