Mrs. Magdalena Merkel, 68, of Rt. 1, Box 420, Lodi, died in a Stockton hospital Friday morning following a long illness. A native of Tyndall, S.D., she and her husband moved to Lodi in 1924.
She is survived by her husband John, one son, Harold J. Merkel of Modesto, one daughter, Mrs. Laura M. Robertson of Stockton, one brother, Fred Finck of Tripp, S.D. and two sisters, Christina Dewald of Tripp, S.D. and Albina Mehlhoff of Lodi. She has two grandchildren.
Mrs. Merkel was a member of the Zion Evangelical and Reformed Church and the Women's Guild of the Church. She and her husband were married Jan.23, 1913.
